HUDSON, Fla. — On March 30, Bonita Read passed away at the age of 85, at the Bayonet Point Hospital in Hudson.
Bonita was born June 28, 1940, in Laconia, New Hampshire, and went to school in Belmont, New Hampshire.
She fell in love with Donald Read and they were married in September of 1957. "Bonnie" was a homemaker bringing up three boys and picked up small jobs when she could. Later on, she enjoyed playing golf and would work part-time at Den Brae Golf Course, working in the pro shop and the kitchen.
Donald and Bonita became snow birds in the early '90s and eventually moved to Florida full time. She was very active with social media and loved to Snapchat with the family on a regular basis. She loved her home in Port Richey and loved to entertain when possible.
Bonita was predeceased by husband Donald Read Sr. and by parents Rena (LaDuke) Dussault and Arthur Caldwell.
She is survived by her brother, Reginald Caldwell; three sons, Donald Jr. and wife Kathy, Christopher and wife Amy and Timothy Read; four grandchildren, Jessica, Sam, Chelsea and Lucas; and one great-grandchild, Sage.
Bonita will join Donald at the Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen, New Hampshire, later in the spring. There will be a celebration of life around the same time and all are welcome to attend.
