It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Ann Prue, who departed this life on Sept. 3, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on June 22, 1934, in Concord, Barbara lived a life filled with compassion, dedication and love.
Barbara attended schools in Concord. She was a devoted healthcare professional and she spent many years serving the community through her work with the Franklin VNA, where her tireless efforts and nurturing spirit touched the lives of countless individuals.
Barbara was a wonderful mother, grandmother and wife. She was the glue that held her family together in good and bad times. Her door was always open for family and friends.
A longtime member of St. Mary of the Assumption Church of St. Gabriel Parish, Barbara found joy and fulfillment in her faith, which was a cornerstone of her life.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Grace N. Cookson, Katherine M. Gates and Laurie Dyer; her son, Frank J. Prue and his wife Shannon of Littleton; her five grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Albert J. Prue Sr.; her parents, Frederick and Nora (Downy) Stiles; her son, Albert J. Prue Jr.; and her brother, Edward P. Stiles; her grandsons Douglas Abbott, Matthew Bashaw and great-grandson Kyle Abbott.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 14, in Park Cemetery, Tilton.
