MEREDITH — The story of one of Meredith's oldest marinas will be presented to the Meredith Historical Society at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7.

David Hamblet, owner of Y Landing Marina, will discuss its history from the 1950's to its busy status today. How did the current name of the marina originate? Has its focus changed through the years? Who frequents this boat yard on Meredith Neck?

It can be said that Dave Hamblet grew up at the Marina. As a boy his family lived next door to Y Landing. While attending local schools he spent teenage summers and weekends working at the Y Landing store, pumping boat gas and learning engine repair. Now with his own children growing up in the area, he continues to lead his marina staff in keeping Winnipesaukee boaters happily enjoying the lake.

Meredith Historical Society is located at 45 Main Street. This presentation is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For more information contact 279-2275.
