ASHLAND — Brad Wolff will speak on “Unsung Heroes in New England History” at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Booster Clubhouse in Ashland. This free public program is sponsored by the Ashland Historical Society.

Wolff is a retired teacher, once honored as the New Hampshire Social Studies Teacher of the Year, whose public history talks have been well received in the past. He will speak about six New Englanders ( including three from New Hampshire) who should be better known. They include Revolutionary War Gen. Henry Knox, author Harriet Beecher Stowe, conservationist Katherine Sleeper Waldon of Wonalancet, lighthouse keeper Walter Eberle, Korean War soldier George A Curley Jr. of Laconia, and political activist Doris Haddock of Dublin.

The Booster Clubhouse is located at 99 Main St. in Ashland next to the town playground and ballfields.
