Señora Jocelyn Judge brings a summer of culture to 11th year at Inter-Lakes Middle-High School

For Inter-Lakes Middle-High School Spanish Teacher Señora Jocelyn Judge, spending a month in Spain was an opportunity to immerse herself in the Spanish language and culture she loves.

Through the Council on International Education Exchange, Judge worked as a program leader for one month in Palma de Mallorca. Similar to a student who participates in foreign exchange, Judge lived with a host family, improved her Spanish-language skills, immersed herself in the culture and met new students from the United States and new friends from Spain.

During her time as program leader she taught daily Spanish classes to American students from around the U.S., attended cooking classes, went hiking, and explored cathedrals, museums and Spanish islands. This opportunity “gave me a refresh” and “it was so impactful to see the students interact with the culture,” said Judge.

As Judge enters her 11th year with Inter-Lakes as a Spanish teacher, volleyball coach, tennis coach and International Club advisor, she is excited to share her summer experiences with her Inter-Lakes students this year. Judge said she was reminded that when we meet people from other countries “people are people everywhere in the world.”
