ASHLAND— Plumb, 51 Main Street, continues to celebrate the handmade, found, and eclectic with the launch of its summer 2022 open house series with a night of tarot reading on Saturday, June 18, from 4 to 8 p.m. Meet Samuel Basil, resident cartomancer, while enjoying complimentary hors d’oeuvres and beverages, and reconnecting with friends.

Samuel will be taking Tarot reading appointments for Saturday beginning at noon, with the last appointment at 7:30 p.m. Private readings last 20-30 minutes. Appointments can be made by sending Plumb a message on Facebook or Instagram, or by emailing them at plumbgallery@gmail.com. Walk-ins are also welcome if there is an open time slot. Samuel will return to Plumb throughout the summer for future readings as well.

After a period of mass separation and loss, Plumb will also debut “Shadyside” an interpretation of the 2010 installation “Wind Phone” by Japanese designer Itaru Sasaki. The original private work was initially created to cope an individual loss, but was later brought to the public after the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake. Like the original, “Shadyside” features a disconnected telephone in an antique telephone booth, allowing one-way conversations with lost loved ones and offers a space for quiet remembrance. A notebook in the booth will serve as a message board of self-reflection and impactful dialog.

Plumb features an eclectic mix of vintage and artist made jewelry, antiques, pottery, candles, gifts, and creations from small independent makers. Susan is also an accomplished stained glass artist and her work is featured in the shop as well. Plumb is open Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
