GILFORD — This month, Opechee Garden Club will host a free Floral Pumpkin Workshop, led by Carole Curry. The workshop will be be held Monday, Oct. 5, at Gilford Community Church.
The Opechee Garden Club business meeting begins at 1 p.m., and doors open at 12:30 p.m. for socializing and refreshments.
The meeting will be followed by a workshop for members and guests to decorate a white pumpkin, using nature as a guide, for this season of color. The workshop is led by Curry, who has been a member of the Opechee Garden Club for six years. She moved from New Hampton, where she was very active in the New Hampton Garden Club.
To participate in the workshop, email OGCPublicity.pattiflodin@gmail.com to RSVP. Pre-registration is required, with only 30 spots.
Participants should bring one 6x8-inch real white pumpkin, a collection of small colored leaves, flower petals, ferns and so forth, a cookie sheet or tray to carry the pumpkin home, small half-inch paintbrushes and sewing pins.
Flatten and dry petals prior to the workshop by placing petals in between pages of books to. Do not over-dry.
