Cindi Cote, of Laconia, shared this photo of service work being completed on Sept. 12, as National Day of Service and Remembrance. “Thirty volunteers (ages 1 to 78) from The Church of Jesus Christ gathered to donate time and efforts in some of Laconia’s public parks,” wrote Cote. “Included in the cleanup list (from Parks & Rec) were the Weirs Beach area, where trash and branches were cleaned up along the boardwalk and trails at the Community Center. A project was completed at Opechee, which included painting the lifeguard chair. A group of about 10 worked at Sanborn Park in Lakeport to remove Japanese knotweed all along the fence. Collectively, about three hours were spent serving in our wonderful community.”
