CENTER HARBOR ― Staying sharp as we age, isn’t that what we all want? Thanks to a generous AARP grant, the Nichols Memorial Library can help you with that goal. We have several Stay Sharp kits that patrons can borrow.

What are Stay Sharp Kits? They are specifically designed collections of activities for anyone who wants to improve their short-term memory and overall mental speed. They are also beneficial to people who may be experiencing memory loss or other cognitive issues related to dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and other memory disorders.

The kits are in a collection of engaging subject themes. Each bag provides several activities, a book specifically chosen to help to stimulate the brain and three or four other activities, such as puzzles, card games, etc., which spark conversation and sharpen short-term memory.

The James E. Nichols Memorial Library in Center Harbor is thrilled to offer these kits to our patrons. You can check out an entire kit just like a book. Stay Sharp Kits make for a fun and entertaining pastime, whether you are a caregiver sharing these kits with a loved one, or you’d just like to try them out yourself. Each kit centers around a specific theme.

Our collection includes: a '60s Music Sing & Play Kit, an Americana Kit, a Birdwatching Kit, a Garden Kit, a History Buffs: WW2 Kit, and a Let’s Go to the Movies Kit. Visit us at 35 Plymouth St. in Center Harbor, call 603-253-6950 or email centerharborlibrary@gmail.com.
