MOULTONBOROUGH — Moultonborough Public Library will host veteran wildlife biologist Eric Orff for his presentation of What’s Wild: A Half-Century of Wisdom from the Woods and Rivers of New England on Tuesday, July 15, at 7 p.m.
Orff spent over 30 years with the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department and another 15 years with the National Wildlife Federation as a field biologist and consultant. In addition to being a certified wildlife biologist, Orff is also a conservation activist, a speaker, and an author. He recently published his first book “What’s Wild” and has won multiple awards for his writing and conservational work.
The presentation draws from Orff’s book by the same name, regaling stories from years in the wilderness. More than four dozen stories are featured in “What’s Wild” from saving thousands of mother bats from poisoning to riding a 10-point whitetail buck. Orff’s program will delve into the tales in his book and the important lessons he’s learned in his studies about environmental preservation.
