SANBORNTON ― Sanbornton Historical Society welcomes members and would-be members to their Annual Meeting on Thursday, Oct. 8, starting at 10:30 a.m., at the Lane Tavern.
The meeting will start with brunch, provided by board members. At 11 a.m., the Annual Meeting, including elections for the 2027 year, will begin.
The "work" part over, guests will enjoy attic treasures brought, hopefully, by everyone. In the past, an 1800s tiny-envelope (made it through the mail back then) from a would-be Tilton suitor to an Abbott family young lady. A document found under an attic floorboard in one of our very old Sanbornton houses caught attention. Hmm, what else? Sometimes it's a "what's it?" because it's something no longer needed or used. An Andover Historical Society visitor brought his collection of Native American finds, and an amazing, unbroken oil lamp pulled out of a lake.
