FRANKLIN — Franklin Area Children’s Theatre presents the second performance of its summer camp series. Based on Disney’s full length Broadway musical, “The Lion King,” campers bring this heartwarming tale from script to stage in just two weeks.

The Lion King Jr. tells the story of the epic adventures of a curious cub named Simba as he struggles to accept the responsibilities of adulthood and his destiny as a king. Along the way, the young lion encounters a colorful cast of characters, including spunky lioness Nala, charismatic meerkat Timon, and loveable warthog Pumbaa. To claim his rightful place on the throne and save his beloved Pridelands, Simba must find his inner strength and confront his wicked Uncle Scar. The Lion King JR. features classic songs from the 1994 film, such “I Just can’t wait to be King.” "Hakuna Matata" and the Academy Award®-winning "Can You Feel the Love Tonight," as well as additional songs penned for the Broadway production.

F.A.C.T campers bring this magical tale of sharing and friendship to life on the Franklin Opera House stage Friday, Aug. 19 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m.

Tickets available at https: franklinoperahouse.org/ or at the door an hour prior to each performance.
