Mae L. Hawkins, 70

Mae Louise Hawkins passed away in her home at the age of 70 on March 12, 2025.

Mae was born Jan. 19, 1955, in Saint Albans, Vermont, the daughter of the late Claire and Jasper Floyd Rushford. Mae is also predeceased by her first-born grandson, Shawn Sylvester, and his only child, Shawn Jr.

Mae took pride in her trade as a machinist at Jorgensen Tool & Stamping Inc. She will be remembered as a straight shooter with a heart of gold. She didn't mince words, but her home and heart were always open to those she loved. Mae and her family enjoyed being on the open roads riding their Harleys, just spending time together.

Mae leaves behind a large loving family. She is survived by her four children, Barbie Sylvester, Frank Colburn and his wife Crystal, Mandy Palm and Jamie Butler; stepson Jason and his wife Jenelle Hawkins; her grandchildren, Haley Mae Rule, Andrew Sylvester, Jonathan, Madison and Ryan Colburn, DJ Palm, Destiny and Samantha Decato, Mason, Katelyn, (twins) Kyle and Kylee and Hannah Butler, Riley and Hunter Hawkins; her great-grandchildren, Gabriel Sylvester, Arianna and Emma Rule, Jaxon and Bodhi Mortenson. Mae also leaves behind her four siblings, Claire Kelly, Jacqueline Ferro, Jasper Rushford and Juliette Dorval, along with many nieces and nephews.

Mae will be truly missed by everyone that knew her.

A graveside service will be held at St. Mary's Church, Saint Albans, Vermont.
