LACONIA — Eileen Golden of Concord will be the first artist exhibiting at the Artist of the Month gallery space at the Historic Belknap Mill. The gallery space will be spotlighting artists who have been participating in adult art classes conducted by the gallery's artist in residence.

The exhibition will on display from Monday, Jan. 16, to Feb. 10.

Eileen began her art study with Larry Frates in 2006 at the Pittsfield Senior Center followed by classes at the Alton Senior Center and presently at the Belknap Mill. At 89, she finds drawing and painting an energizing activity that keeps her feeling young.

Before moving to New Hampshire, she participated in adult education classes at the Art Institute of Chicago, Hofstra, and she continued her art studies with Doris Rice of Portsmouth upon arrival in New Hampshire.

Her works have been exhibited at the Epsom, Dover and Newington libraries as well as the Hopkington Historical Society and Riverside Gallery in Laconia.
