CAMPTON  Dam Brewhouse, which opened in 2018, wanted a way to give back to the community. Owners Sarah Dreshaj and John Anderson decided to donate a portion of their profits to the Campton-Thornton Firemen’s Association, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to support the fire department, its members and the community.

“It was a no-brainer; they helped us when we needed it,” said Dreshaj. “Without the fire department, there would not be a Dam Brewhouse.”

The Dam Brewhouse, located at 1323 Route 175 in Campton or “Main Street,” to locals, frequently holds fundraising events on CTFA’s behalf. The biggest event of the year is the “Dam Turkey Trot,” a 5K, held at the Owl’s Nest Resort in Thornton, that raised over $3,000 for first responders.

At the end of the year, the department had some unspent money allocated toward equipment left in the budget, coincidentally, the department had come under budget on a grant project and was able to re-allocate those funds toward the tool. These funds, paired with nearly $8,000 raised by the Brewhouse, topped the $17,000 price tag of the equipment.

“We can’t thank you enough,” said President Warnick to Dreshaj and Anderson. "We would have never done this without you.”
