Kathy Ann Fitts Hughes, 66, of Laconia, passed away Dec. 13, 2025.
Kathy was born on June 6, 1959, to Rita O. Hamel and Edward A. Hughes Jr. She graduated from Laconia High School, and attended Lakes Region Community Collage for two years. Kathy worked at Laconia State School working with the disabled, did housekeeping, and worked at McNeil's.
Kathy was an amazing mother and grandmother. She had a bigger then life personality with so much love to give. She was like a mom to so many people and had an infectious laugh and lit up every room she was in. She touched the lives of everyone that knew her.
Kathy is survived by her two children, Jerry Fitts Jr., and Jill Fitts and her significant other Josh Albert; five grandchildren, Aubrey Ekstrom, Devin Fitts, Gwen Fitts, Jillian Darling and Kara McKinnon; her two siblings, James S. Hughes and Judy L Beck; along with several nephews.
There will be a celebration of life Saturday, June 6. The celebration will be held at a private location. Please reach out to her daughter Jill Fitts via Facebook to get address and time. Everyone that knew her and cared for her is welcome to attend and celebrate her life with us.
