Dollar General opened a new location at 288 Union Ave. in Laconia, on April 30. The company plans a grand opening community event and ribbon-cutting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, with complimentary gift cards and giveaways to customers, according to a corporate public relations spokesperson. Each store employs approximately 6-10 employees. Dollar General sells foods health and beauty products, home cleaning supplies, housewares, stationery, seasonal items and basic clothing.
