MANCHESTER — The summer season in the Lakes Region kicks off with a country music extravaganza. Veterans Count Lakes Region Chapter has partnered with We Care of Temple B’nai Israel in Laconia, to present the Honky Tonk Chicks in concert on Saturday, May 24, Memorial Day Weekend. The event is live at the Inter-Lakes Community Auditorium in Meredith at 7:30 p.m. All net proceeds will benefit service members and their families seeking emergency financial assistance and care coordination through Veterans Count, a program of Easterseals New Hampshire.
“The Lakes Region Veterans Count Chapter continues to be honored to raise money for our veterans and their families in NH,” said Cynthia Makris, chair of the Lakes Region board of Veterans Count. “We know Honky Tonk Chicks will put on a rockin’ good time.”
The Honky Tonk Chicks are a trio from Louisiana that performs covers of country music ranging from the classics to today’s country hits. They tour nationally, performing at venues of all sizes including singing the national anthem at the New Orleans Saints’ home game at Caesar’s Superdome in New Orleans last September. Â
Speaking on behalf of Temple B’nai Israel, We Care Chairman Stu Needleman said, “Veterans Count provides critical support to veterans and their families. We Care is proud to join them in this vital mission, helping to ensure no veteran is left behind. By partnering with Veterans Count, we can make a direct and meaningful impact on the lives of those who have given so much.”
