WinnAero to host career fair on Oct. 2

LACONIA — WinnAero, the aviation and aerospace education non-profit, scheduled its annual Career Fair for youth to take place on Thursday, Oct. 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. for schools and 11 a.m.-3 p.m. for the general public at the Laconia Municipal Airport.

A total of 22 exhibitors plan to have information booths as well as static displays on the ramp available for students, parents and teachers of STEM. Admission is free. The event will take place in the Sky Bright Aviation hangar at the Laconia Airport.

Among the planned exhibitors are: NH Army and Air Guard, Civil Air Patrol, Sky Bright Aviation, Emerson Aviation, Pratt & Whitney, the Federal Aviation Administration, NH Bureau of Aeronautics/Drone Operations, ATS Precision  Manufacturing, Southern NH University School of Engineering, Technology and Aeronautics, Plymouth State University STEM Deptartment, Laconia Flight Academy, ACE Academy, the Experimental Aircraft Association, Nashua Community College’s Aviation Programs, Academy of Model Aeronautics, Belknap County Sheriff’s Department and the Air & Space Association.

“This marks our third annual Career Fair,” said WinnAero Education Director and event coordinator Dan Caron. “Wwe have something for everyone interested in aviation/space careers thanks to our extensive and diverse exhibitor list.”

This year, Caron expects 20 or more schools to send buses of students to the fair to meet and chat with aviation/aerospace experts.
