GILFORD — A Goffstown driver is facing negligent homicide charges for allegedly causing a collision with multiple motorcycles on Lake Shore Road during which two people died and one person was sent to the hospital.
Anthony J. Summers, 32, was charged with two counts of negligent homicide and one count of falsifying evidence.
“Lake Shore Road, also known as Route 11, at Country Village Way, is shut down pending the investigation there,” Deputy Police Chief Dustin Parent said on Saturday night. “We do have two people who are deceased who were on motorcycles, and one person also on a motorcycle has been transported to Concord Hospital” in Concord.
Gilford police responded to the accident at approximately 6:15 p.m. on Sept. 20. Parent said Summers was driving westbound in a new model Ford Bronco and the motorcycles were driving eastbound. He confirmed it was a head on collision.
“The Bronco is said to have crossed over the line and hit the motorcycles,” Parent said on Sunday.
The names of the people who died were not immediately made available, and Parent did not have a status up on Sunday for the person sent to the hospital, reportedly with life-threatening injuries.
The accident is under investigation by the Gilford Police Department.
