PLYMOUTH — Tenney Mountain Resort recently hired Michael van Eyck as its new president and general manager. Van Eyck brings over two decades of experience in resort and business management to Tenney.
The addition of van Eyck, who is now a partner within the leadership team, is a significant step as Tenney Mountain heads into a new era under the ownership of NorthCountry Development Group, which took over in 2022. His extensive background in mountain operations, business development, and team leadership will help Tenney through its ongoing revitalization.
“We are thrilled to welcome Michael to the Tenney community,” said CEO of Tenney Mountain Resort and NCGD Steven P. Kelly. “His leadership and experience will be a tremendous value-add as we continue to reimagine, invest in and revitalize our resort, ensuring it remains a beloved destination for both locals and visitors alike.”
Prior to joining Tenney, van Eyck held several roles for The Fairbank Group, where he oversaw operations, spearheaded business development efforts, ensured financial health, implemented innovative strategies to optimize customer satisfaction and engagement for several Northeast ski mountains. His deep understanding of mountain operations, combined with his passion for hospitality, makes him uniquely suited to lead Tenney into a new chapter of success.
“I am thrilled to join Tenney at such a pivotal time,” said van Eyck. “The resort has a strong legacy in the community and offers a unique set of opportunities for growth and improvement. I look forward to working alongside Steven and our dedicated Tenney team to further enhance the resort’s reputation as a premier destination in the region.”
As president and general manager, van Eyck will focus on enhancing guest experiences, increasing operational efficiency, expanding resort offerings, and ensuring the continued success and growth of Tenney Mountain Resort. His leadership will be key in overseeing day-to-day operations, managing the resort’s strategic direction, and fostering a positive, inclusive work culture.
