LACONIA — Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center is excited to announce the release of its May-August Program Guide, offering a diverse range of opportunities for people of all ages to learn, explore, and connect with the natural world year-round.

From creative arts and culinary workshops to guided nature hikes and garden explorations, the late spring and summer schedule includes:

Hands-on Workshops: Traditional crafts such as soap-making and Beeswax Resist Dyeing.

Culinary Arts: Garden-to-table cooking classes, homemade ice cream workshops, and nature- inspired baking led by Chef LaShunda Allen.

Outdoor Exploration: Guided nature hikes, summer tractor tour, and a specialized forest management walk led by forester Tim Nolin.

Creative Expression: "Nature Inspires Art" sessions hosted by local artist Larry Frates.

In addition to adult programs, Prescott Farm offers year-round educational experiences for preschool, school-aged, and homeschool learners.

Polliwogs (Ages 2 and up): A weekly discovery program for toddlers and their caregivers. Held Wednesdays from 10–11:30 am.

Homeschool Series (Ages 6-14): Specialized nature curriculum held every Friday from 10 a.m.–noon. Price varies per program, accompanying adult required.

Summer Garden-to-Table: During the summer months, the homeschool series transitions into an immersive garden-to-table experience for any child aged 6-14. Learn how to make homemade salad dressings, pasta, ice cream, and more. Accompanying adult needed.

“Our goal is to encourage people to connect with their natural outdoors and build community,” Communications and Events Director Sophie Acampora said. “Whether you’re learning a new skill or simply exploring our trails, these programs offer meaningful ways to engage with the environment during all months of the year.”

Prescott Farm is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing nature-based learning experiences for children and adults to cultivate a lifelong connection to the natural world. For more information, visit prescottfarm.org.
