MEREDITH — What is the key to having a garden that produces a good harvest or lots of flowers? According to John Moulton, owner of Moulton Farm, “There are a lot of factors that can affect your garden. Even the best plants, perfect location, and reasonably good weather won’t be enough if you don’t focus on some key things early in the gardening season.”

Starting at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 23, find out what Moulton recommends and ask questions at the free “Gardens with Good Beginnings” workshop at Moulton Farm in Meredith. Moulton will share his years of experience growing vegetables, discuss what to focus on and what not to do to give your garden the best chance of producing well this year.

“What you do early in the season can make an important difference in how well your plants deal with pests and our sometimes challenging weather conditions,” Moulton says. “In our garden center, we’ll often have people asking us questions once they have a problem. Many of those issues could have been greatly reduced by doing things differently when that plant was quite young. Or by doing something before the seed or plant went into their garden.”

This is a free workshop suitable for gardeners of all experience levels. No pre-registration is necessary. More information can be found at MoultonFarm.com
