Tami Horan: Supporting Tim Minor for District 5 state rep in Laconia

I have had the opportunity to see the kind of person Timothy Minor is, and one quality has always stood out to me: when something needs to be done, Tim is willing to help.

Community involvement is not always glamorous. Sometimes it means giving up personal own time, getting hands dirty or helping with something simply because it needs doing. Tim has demonstrated that kind of commitment to Laconia time and again.

Readers may see him helping clean up an area of the city, pitching in on a community project or simply being there when someone needs an extra hand. He does not need recognition for doing it. He gets involved because this is his community and he cares about it.

That tells me a great deal about a person's character.

Now Tim is running for state representative, and I think it is important for District 5 residents to know something about the person behind the name on the ballot. Tim is hardworking, dependable and willing to put his own time and effort into the community he calls home.

Public service requires more than talking about problems. It requires listening, showing up and being willing to do the work.

I appreciate the time and effort Tim Minor has already given to Laconia, and I hope District 5 residents will take the opportunity to learn more about him and the kind of person he has shown himself to be.
