To The Daily Sun,
On Tuesday, Sept. 10, the voters of our state will go to the polls to select the candidates that will appear on our ballot in November.
The most important and far-reaching task that the governor and legislature undertake in the first year of a session is the formation and adoption of a budget.
There is clearly one candidate who is totally prepared to walk into the corner office and assume that role on day one and that is Chuck Morse. As Senate president and a member of the Senate Finance Committee, he has already led in this daunting effort and done it quite successfully. He has negotiated with both parties in the Senate chamber and been able to reach across the building and work with the leaders and members of the house. He already has an established working relationship with the Legislative Budget Administration, the department tasked with the state’s budget and finances. He has listened to the heads of departments as they explained their needs and negotiated their budgets. Basically, he has already “been there ... done that” and accomplished it quite successfully.
Chuck Morse is a well-known, successful and established business person. He is a dedicated family man and a respected member of his community and our state.
As voters look at the ballot and decide for whom to cast their vote, I hope that they will seriously consider Chuck Morse and select him to be our next governor.
