To The Daily Sun,

I have called Laconia home for over 32 years, raising my three children here.

Over the years, I’ve learned that leadership isn’t about having all the answers — it’s about listening, learning, and bringing people together to create solutions. True leadership requires the courage to act, the humility to consider new ideas, and the ability to collaborate with people who may not always share the same views.

Change is inevitable in a city like ours, but it’s how we manage that change that defines us. I believe growth must be guided by fairness and balance, ensuring that every resident — whether lifelong or just arrived — has a voice in shaping our future.

One of my proudest accomplishments was spearheading the revival of Wyatt Park. Through upgrades to the equipment and the creation of a walking path, we made the park a safer, more enjoyable place for children and families to gather. I was also part of the initial roundtable discussions with Catholic Charities that ultimately led to the creation of the Belknap House, providing support and housing for homeless families in need. Many residents have trusted me to advocate for them, and I was even referred to serve on the city’s homelessness task force; however, we had different views.

I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t know everything about the inner workings of city government. I do know how to work with others, listen to people, and bring forward the voices of our community. My time serving on the Housing Committee in Concord has shown me the power of collaboration, and I’m committed to using that to move Laconia forward.

I ask for citizens' support and vote for city council. Together, we can build a city where every resident has the opportunity to be amazing.
