Sheila Kufert: Hamas chose weapons over welfare, and war over their own people

It is a tragedy when any child is killed but for Hamas and the Islamic radicals including Hezbollah, the Houthis, the PLO, etc. it is a public relations opportunity. James Veverka talked about Hind Rajab Foundation, named for a child who was killed ostensibly by Israeli soldiers but ignores all the Israelis killed during the massacre and afterwards like Ariel Bibas, a 4-year-old whom Hamas terrorists murdered along with his mother Shiri, and his infant brother Kfir, after kidnapping them on Oct. 7. The claim against the Israel Defense Forces is made by the same people who have lied about casualty numbers all along.

Hamas uses civilians including children as human shields, including in propaganda campaigns. No other country besides Israel drops flyers and warns civilians to leave before hitting terror targets. They are not war criminals; that is an oxymoron; war is war. They didn’t start the war but they need to win.

Hamas stores weapons, missiles and terror tunnels under schools, hospitals, children’s bedrooms and civilian infrastructure. They don’t care about the Gazans. Right now the Gazans are leaving in droves, 36,000 so far and rioting against Hamas since they realize they, and not Israel, are the cause of their misery. Hamas takes 20%-40% of their salaries. Billions in international aid have poured into Gaza over the last two decades — from UN agencies, Qatar, the Palestinian Authority, the U.S., $100M annually from Iran, and more. But Gaza still depends on others for basic necessities like power, fuel, food, water, and health care. So where did the money go? Hamas spent it on 350+ miles of terror tunnels, at roughly $3 million each — choosing weapons over welfare, and war over their own people.

They could’ve built schools, hospitals, and a bomb shelter in every home. They built a subterranean terror network instead.
