To the Daily Sun,
I attended the Belknap County budget meeting on Tuesday and was pleased with the presentation by the commission, and how they allowed all who wished to speak time to do so. It is noteworthy that many people spoke in favor of restoring the budgets for the UNH Cooperative Extension and the Belknap County Conservation District, and that no one spoke in opposition. It's important for readers to know the budget increases listed in your article ("County budget proposal up 7.6%," Dec. 10) appear large only because those budgets were cut in half for 2025 from 2024 funding levels.
