To The Daily Sun,
Bruce Cheney's bid to be seen as an "independent" candidate for Laconia mayor had all legitimacy vanish the moment he happily accepted a nod of approval from Democrat Sen. Jeanne Shaheen. Let's put our cards on the table. Shaheen is no voice of reason. She's a party-line politician whose endorsement speaks of loyalty to the same tired Democrat policies many citizens of Laconia are clamoring to change.
By taking her endorsement, Cheney proved he's not the free-thinking voice he claims to be. Instead, he's aligning himself with Democrat causes that do not benefit the interests or values of this community. It's as plain as day what this choice means: Mike Bordes is the only choice.
Bordes has consistently demonstrated a commitment to issues in a bipartisan fashion. He’s focused on what matters to us: safe neighborhoods, responsible budgeting, and a thriving local economy.
Laconia deserves a mayor who answers to the people. That’s why I’m voting for Mike Bordes.
