To The Daily Sun,
This November voters have the opportunity to leave behind the Libertarian principles of Tim Lang and elect Carlos Cardona of Laconia as state Senator. Tim Lang is out of step with voters. Lang’s votes reflect this. Here are some of Lang’s actions: at every chance, he has expanded the school voucher program which siphons public dollars for private schools and voted to kill SB 141 which would have demanded its accountability; Lang voted to kill SB 117 that would have kept firearms away from minors. Lang voted against SB 181 that would have guaranteed access to comprehensive reproductive health care. Lang voted to make it more difficult to vote in SB 220. Lang sided with out-of-state trash haulers and helped kill HB 1620 that would have prevented unnecessary landfill expansion and continues to allow landfills within 200 feet of waterbodies. Recently, Lang joined other extreme Libertarians by signing a motion to the NH Supreme Court to reverse the Claremont Decision, with the intent of eliminating NH’s constitutional obligation to provide an adequate public education.
Carlos Cardona stands for public education and will keep public tax dollars for public education. Carlos Cardona believes health care is a human right and not a privilege. Carlos Cardona advocates for an all-inclusive health care system providing access regardless of your socio-economic condition, gender or pre-existing conditions. Carlos Cardona is a champion for a living wage. Carlos Cardona supports the creation of a new industry around cannabis that will infuse new revenues into our state and communities and leave behind the stigmas of the past. Carlos Cardona will protect our water, air and beautiful landscapes and move NH into a renewable energy future.
On Nov. 5, readers should think about the future for their children. Vote for Carlos Cardona for state Senator, District 2.
