Rep. Mike Bordes: Representative proud of recent endorsement by Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire

The citizens of Laconia must be aware that money from outside organizations — especially the libertarian Free Stater group Young Americans for Liberty and their partner "Make Liberty Win" that are funneling dark money into our local politics. It isn't some kind of conspiracy theory; it's a verifiable fact that cannot be ignored.

Why would some organization out of Virginia be so vested in trying to swing votes in our local elections? Simple: because they don't care about what is best for our community; they care about pushing their agenda.

Rep. Steven Bogert and I are Republicans who have always voted with common sense and stood up for the values of our city. We don't seek to be puppets of special interest groups that never have our best interests at heart. You see, the Gunstock debacle really drew a line in the sand regarding how Libertarians sought to destroy our Gunstock Mountain and showed they absolutely are not concerned about our community's values and traditions.

I am proud to have recently been endorsed by the Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire, which speaks volumes about my dedication to serving and protecting our people here in Laconia. These dark money organizations are a blight on our democratic process and must be exposed for their underhanded tactics.

I would like to extend an invitation for you to hear from your Republican candidates at the Paugus Bay Pub at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 28. I truly believe in transparency, honesty, and real representation of the people. Together, let's stand up for what is right and turn our backs on outside forces who seek to twist and manipulate our republic for their own selfish desires. Together, we can ensure the voice of Laconia is one that is truly heard — not drowned out by dark money.
