To The Daily Sun,

We all need to take a step back and stop being the judge, jury and executioner when it comes to Rep. Jeffrey Greeson’s incident with a plow driver in Wentworth. Do we still live in the U.S.A.? Are we innocent until proven guilty by our peers?

In the New Hampshire Constitution, Part I, Article 15 protects the accused and states the subject must be heard. Many people have already tarred and feathered Rep. Greeson. Shoot, by some standards, Greeson should get 40 lashes and if he survives then let him be heard. If we stop following the NH and U.S. constitutions, then we are no better than China, Russia, Cuba and many other countries that put a person in jail until sometime in the future they feel fit to release the accused — that is, if they want to release the accused.

Until we have walked in someone else’s shoes we should not be casting judgement on a few seconds of video. We were not there before, during or after to witness the whole event. We must let it play out for the whole matter to be revealed. Once revealed, then let the chips fall where they should but until then everyone of us is innocent until proven guilty by our peers.

"Live Free or Die" is the NH motto, let’s live up to that motto.

Rep. John Sellers
