New members to be inducted into Athletic Hall of Fame

The Laconia High School Athletic Department will be inducting four new members to the Athletic Hall of Fame on Friday, Nov. 29, hosted by the legendary voice of the Sachems, David Rea. The four inductees will join the 41 existing members.

This year’s class consists of three individual athletes and one team. Families, friends, and the general public are encouraged to attend this celebratory event. We will host the event here on the LHS campus at the Huot Technical Center’s Meredith Village Savings Bank Dining Room. We will gather for light refreshments and social hour at 5 p.m., with the inductions beginning at 6 p.m.

Outstanding Track athlete B.J. Fowler (Class of 1978); Track and Basketball standout Martha Kidder McIntire (Class of 1988); Football and Track athlete Richard Steady (Class of 1979); and the first-ever state championship team, the 1908 Football Team coached by Balky Boyson, will be honored.

It always is a wonderful event, and all are welcome to join the pride and tradition of Sachems athletics.

This years’ inductees will join: Induction Class of 1983 — Michael Giguere, Douglas Hounsell, Bernie Lacroix, Kathy O’Neil, Penny Pitou, Steve Stetson, Richard Tilton, and Chip Veazey; Induction Class of 1984 — Guy Hamel, Jack Irwin, and Jeep Munsey; Induction Class of 1985 — Bidge Clement, Bobby Conway, and Beau Lessard; Induction Class of 1989 — Phil Estes, and John McGonagle; Induction Class of 2014 — Mickey Donovan, James Fitzgerald, Nick Ford, Chris Phelps, Jimmy Swormstedt, and Alan Wool; Induction Class of 2015 — 1991 State Championship Field Hockey Team, Beth Gilbert, Erwin Smith, and Tim Steuer; Induction Class of 2016 — Christian Birt, Socrates Bobotas, Amy Cantin, Charlene Emond, Wilbur Fay, and Paul Phelps; Induction Class of 2017 — 1956 State Championship Baseball Team, Molly DeMark, James Dunlap, Mike Grover, Gary Harbour, and Aaron Jones; and Induction Class of 2018 — Mark Brewer, John Colby, and Ken Parady.
