To The Daily Sun,

I am writing to express my gratitude to the many people who helped make the 2026 Love Our Earth Day a great success. Twenty-four organizations shared important information about their programs and conveyed hope that we can protect our region’s natural beauty and environmental spaces. It is their generous gift of time, talent, and knowledge that makes this event worthwhile.

Our sponsors, Citizens Climate Lobby, Unitarian Universalist Society of Laconia, Laconia Gilford Lions Club, Climate Action, Gilford Community Church, and the Congregational Church of Laconia funded ads and publicity. In addition, the Congregational Church hosted the event, providing the venue, refreshments, and a warm welcome.

I would also like to spotlight the many people who work for the City of Laconia who offered guidance, assisted with permitting requests, and provided publicity in the Laconia Links. Each individual communicated their support for this event through every interaction.

Local businesses supported Love Our Earth Day by sharing our flyer, The Daily Sun published an expansive article encouraging attendance, and the Lakes 101.5 FM “Good News” moment helped spread the word. Love Our Earth Day Lakes Region is an example of community spirit and collaboration across disciplines and across town lines in support of the common goal of taking care of our environment.
