To The Daily Sun,
Recently in frustration upon choking on the smell of skunk for the fourth week in a row, and the almost constant smell of skunk every morning in downtown Laconia, I wrote a Facebook post that received a lot of traffic from others experiencing minor conflicts with local wildlife. I love wildlife and I don’t want to take harmful action against any of these furry offenders, so I looked up a couple of websites that offer some suggestions.
The Wildlife Center of Virginia has a Managing Wildlife Conflicts and Habitats tab on its website. I like this site because users can select specific information on the animal they are having a conflict with. The UNH Cooperative Extension also has a resource page on this subject:Â extension.unh.edu/resource/nuisance-wildlife-around-home, as well as the NH Fish and Game:Â wildlife.nh.gov/wildlife-and-habitat/nuisance-wildlife.
My hope is we can live and let live, and live together in way we don’t get in each other’s way.
