Kris Peters: Laconia deserves leadership that stands up for citizens

We need a mayor who puts the people first, not political insiders. That’s why I’m supporting Mike Bordes.

Mike has proven time and again that he’s willing to walk the walk literally. He shows up for residents, listens to concerns, and takes action. He’s not afraid to speak out when something’s wrong, whether it’s protecting private property, addressing public safety, or demanding accountability.

His opponent, Bruce Cheney, may have deep roots in local politics, but that is partly the problem. Cheney is friends and supported by Norm Silber the mastermind behind the disastrous effort to blow up Gunstock Mountain. That initiative wasn't merely irresponsible, it threatened one of our region's most treasured assets and jeopardized local jobs, tourism, and civic pride. Laconia deserves better than leadership beholden to that kind of destructive agenda.

Those who want a mayor who'll stand up for our city rather than play politics should vote Mike Bordes.
