ALSTEAD — Evan Swift, 25, of Alstead, died suddenly at his home on Sept. 26, 2025.

Initially, Evan attended Walpole schools. He went on to Fall Mountain Regional High School and graduated from there in 2019. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the teachers and staff there. After high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for the next four years. He was first assigned to Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany, where he served with the 86th Comptroller Squadron and was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal for his work in, among other things, logging biometric data of Afghan refugees and identifying 13 potential threats. He was then assigned to Ellsworth Air Force Base in South Dakota, and was honorably discharged in July 2023.

After returning home he enrolled in the University of Vermont but then transferred to Keene State College to be closer to his family.

Evan enjoyed socializing with friends, skiing, hiking, family gatherings and hunting and fishing with his uncle and grandfather. He was a connoisseur of fine coffee and sought out new and different brands to sample. He was deeply loved by his family and his passing leaves a deep void in so many hearts.

Evan is survived by his mother, Michelle Swift of Alstead; his sister, Emily Swift; his aunt and uncle, Samantha and Anthony Swift of Waterboro, Maine; a cousin, William Swift also of Waterboro, Maine; grandparents Michael and Patti Swift of Gilford; and other aunts, uncles and cousins in the Alstead and Keene area.

There will be no calling hours.

A celebration of Evan’s life will be held at the Walpole Middle School, date and time to be determined.
