To The Daily Sun,

Thank you for the article on The Wellness Complex in Laconia. Many of us miss the opportunity to use the facility, especially the pool.

I have used the pool for exercise and therapy after surgeries since it opened. Many people, young and old, have enjoyed the numerous water classes, swimming lessons, and leisure swimming daily. Lanes were constantly in use. Local rescue squads, fire departments, people training for competitions, and local swim teams all utilized the facility. At certain times, it was hard to reserve a lane to use.

Yes, we can go elsewhere and use exercise equipment but we cannot go in to water, except at a few hotels. Not everyone can live on a lake and the lakes are only accessible for swimming five months a year. Our population deserves a facility that can be used by people of all ages year-round.

This pool was once the best amenities of the region. We can only hope the owners consider rebuilding. The city needs to assist anyway it can. It would add to the quality of life for all.
