Is Brigitte Gabriel really a reliable source regarding Islam?

To The Daily Sun,

"Today is the day to begin your education!" "We need to become better informed!" One would assume that the moral of these comments is that we should never stop learning and to verify that which is learned. A recent submission cited Brigitte Gabriel as a reputable resource referencing Islam as 80 percent political and 20 percent religious, and bad, bad, bad!

Brigitte Gabriel apparently is also known by four aliases: Brigitte Tudor and Nour Seman and Haran Qahwaji and Hanah Kahwagi Tudr. I did "check the facts" (unless they are the insidious "fake news") and thought to myself "Why would she change her name?" And adopt the surname "Gabriel?" Only an angel would know!

She claims that her family was victimized by Muslims during the 1970's Lebanese Civil War, but other evidence indicated that she lived a "relatively normal" life in the Christian section of Marjeyoun, Lebanon. Coincidentally, she also worked for the Israeli army as a television commentator. Hopefully she did not resort to "yellow journalism." Her professional education was a single business administration course at a local "Young Women's Christian Association" in 1984. I assume these are facts facts unless they are...you know it!

Presently she is the founder/director of the "American Congress for Truth and ACT!," an anti-Muslim organization which is endorsed by evangelical Christian conservatives, hard-line defenders of Israel, and Tea Party Republicans. Through her leadership, she has been able to realize the American dream with a six figure income from her non-profit tax-exempt organization, and resides in a three million dollar house in Virginia Beach. She has been referred to as "America's most prominent anti-Muslim activist," who exudes "pure unadulterated hate." She has been compared to Josef Goebbels (a dubious honor) by her detractors. Additionally she believes that the U.S. State Department, the Pentagon, the CIA, and the FBI have been infiltrated by "barbarians." Could she be biased? Again, this could be ... you know!

Her detractors include the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (a U.S. veterans group), Anti-Defamation League, Jewish Federation of Ottawa, J Street (a Christian/Jewish group advocating a separate Palestinian state), Christians United for Israel, and the Council on American-Islamic Relations. And Pope Francis, who acknowledges Islam as a religion! And non-bigots!

So I did use "the day to begin your education!" and "...to become better informed!" And decided that Nour wouldn't be a suitable educational guru for me. Of course I could be guilty of "heuristics," then I would(n't) have to think and the easiest conclusion would(n't) be that all of these facts are "fake news." Then again, Nour can revel in her Dunning-Kruger Complex. Well, excuse me, I have to ponder!
