To The Daily Sun,

Bruce Cheney has been a member of the Laconia City Council for the past seven years. And for seven years, he's been a consistent yes man rubber-stamping decisions rather than leading with courage or vision. That's not leadership. That's a follower.

At age 82, Mr. Cheney might have decades of experience, but experience isn't everything. Being in touch with the realities of the world today is also important. Laconia has real challenges: economic development, housing, infrastructure, and attracting and keeping young families. Those challenges require new thinking, new innovation, and leaders who grasp the here and now and can forge the future.

Do we want to go on living in the past, or do we want to face the future? The choice is ours. I, for my part, am tired of watching the same old faces making the same tired decisions while our city stagnates. It's time to make a change. The time is now.

Let's vote in some leaders who will fight for Laconia's future not just protect its past. For mayor my choice is Mike Bordes.
