To The Daily Sun,
Recently, I read a letter to the editor in The Laconia Daily Sun in which the author suggested that the “right” answer to a controversial issue or question could be quickly and easily obtained by asking Google AI for the “right” answer. This made me think about asking AI which of the candidates I should vote for in the midterm elections on Nov. 3.
Google AI is, after all, all-knowing, impartial, unbiased, and programmed to provide only “facts." If this is really true, we wouldn’t even need to have elections as Google AI could examine everything the candidates say, analyze its truthfulness, and determine who is the best candidate to represent me. Boy, wouldn’t that be easy? Still, the more I think about it, this is either a really great idea or maybe, just maybe, a terrible one.
Readers should decide for themselves, but more importantly remember to vote on Nov. 3. I will, as I believe our democracy is dependent upon free and fair elections.
