Doug Lambert: Reappoint Jade Wood to the Gunstock Area Commission

I am submitting this letter in support of Gunstock Area Commissioner Jade Wood. Her term expires this year, and she has indicated that she intends to seek another.

As many people know, Jade has been an effective commissioner in service to the stakeholders of the Gunstock Area including residents, its many employees, and guests. She has proven herself in many ways throughout her first term. Most notably, during the difficult period in 2022 when the senior management engaged in a walkout and she stepped up in the high-stakes effort to resolve the situation for a timely and beneficial outcome.

Since then, she has served as the vice chair of the commission and helped lead several initiatives to set policies in place to ensure the ongoing smooth operation and synergy within the commission and its working with the management team.

Additionally, she has worked through several successful changes and transitions of key personnel which is a key role of the Commission.

At each step of the way, she has provided guidance and support for the many beneficial capital expenditures that have resulted in the beautiful and well-equipped four season resort we have today ― at no cost to the county but rather through mindful stewardship of the monies earned. During her term, Gunstock has deposited record amounts of money into the Belknap County coffers.

I am urging all Belknap County residents to contact their state representatives (members of the delegation responsible for these appointments) and encourage them to reappoint Commissioner Jade Wood to a second term on the Gunstock Area Commission. She has demonstrated her commitment and dedication to upholding her oath to the residents of Belknap and all who benefit from the great jewel here in our backyard.
