Don Ewing: People who want more opportunities need to reject Democrats

Charles Barkley said, “You know Black people have been voting Democratic their whole life and they’re still poor.”

Apparently Barkley doesn’t think a bare subsistence existence on welfare is good enough, I agree.

To escape welfare you need a job. Democrats are job killers. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez killed an Amazon warehouse in New York offering 25,000 good jobs. Chicago Democrats stopped Walmart from building in Chicago and offering good jobs and inexpensive goods. Democrat laws, taxes, regulations, and bureaucratic delays drove millions of good jobs overseas and inhibit creation of new businesses.

Democrat open borders and sanctuary policies, contrary to our immigration laws, allow millions of illegal aliens to compete with poor Americans for jobs (reducing opportunities and depressing wages), housing, schooling, medical and social services.

Most really good jobs require good educations. Children from poor families in major American cities are stuck, by Democrats, in bad and often dangerous schools where even many graduates lack the basic reading and math skills needed for good jobs.

Everyone wants to be safe. Yet local Democrat politicians, prosecutors, and judges release criminals without punishment to prey on, mostly poor, people; they provide sanctuary to illegal aliens who bring drugs, gangs, and violence, and they let mobs of Democrats destroy neighborhoods where poor people shop and work.

Democrats claim to be the compassionate party. But Democrat politicians’ compassion seems only for criminals and illegal aliens, not for law-abiding, poor Americans trying to get ahead, start families, and live in safe neighborhoods.

President Donald Trump demonstrated that proper economic and border policies help all, and especially lower-income Americans. People wanting better schools, safe neighborhoods, and more local opportunities need to reject the Democrats that betray them and elect Republicans to local and state offices to further improve their lives.
