To The Daily Sun,

Erica Russell is running for the New Hampshire Statehouse to represent Northfield and Franklin (Merrimack District 25). She is a political outsider fed up with the state of politics.

Erica is a force of nature who likes to get stuff done. I should know; we’ve been married for 35 years. When our first child was born, she attended midwifery school by day and worked as a nurse by night while still caring for our son. After she earned her degree, we had three more children who have all thrived under her care.

During her 30-year career as a nurse-midwife and nurse practitioner (she earned a second master’s degree to provide primary care to local families), she learned that listening is critical before offering treatment options to patients.

Beyond medicine and motherhood, she is a rugged competitor. She took up triathlons at 40, and through sheer hard work, just kept getting better. The first thing she did after she retired was ride her bicycle 3,200 miles across the country. Today, adapting to a bum knee, she has taken up rowing. She finished last in her first race but I know how that story will end.

Erica knows what it takes to raise a family, balance a budget, make sacrifices, and tackle the hard stuff. She will represent us with her standard vigor and dedication.

A vote on Nov. 3 for Erica Russell is a vote taxpayers will be proud of.
