To The Daily Sun,

RINO (Republican in Name Only) — a term tossed around by people on the right to identify those who supposedly don’t truly represent Republican values but still use the title. I would submit that those who most richly deserve that title are people who used to be Republicans but are now Donald Trump supporters. They are in no way whatsoever in line with what the Republican party has historically championed. They are in no way affiliated with the party of Ronald Reagan, of Dwight D. Eisenhower, of Abraham Lincoln.

Out of respect to the history of the Republican party and its now ruined reputation, they should formally form and join a new party — The “Rumps” might be a good name? Then they can publicly embrace the nonsensical and chaotic tariffs, the use of the military against U.S. citizens and the continued ratcheting up of violent rhetoric. Embrace the threats of invading Greenland, the adoration of dictators and the denigration of Ukraine’s heroic leader. Embrace the breathtaking incompetence of cabinet secretaries the likes of Pete Hegseth, Kristi Noem, and RFK Jr. Embrace the discard of due process, the bluster behind claims that Trump alone can end wars, and the spending tens of millions of our dollars on a birthday parade for their leader. Embrace the "Big Beautiful Bill" and its tax cuts for the wealthy, medical coverage cuts for the elderly and less fortunate, and its enormous deficits.

They own all of this — every single bit of it — so they should make their ownership a point of pride. Why keep hiding beneath the once-respected Republican name? Kind of similar to Free Staters who won’t admit that they are Free Staters, but we all know they are. Trump supporters, embrace who they are — the Rumps.
