To The Daily Sun,
Just read with great interest the article on shoreline property reports done by the Lake Winnipesaukee Alliance (Laconia Daily Sun Sept. 12). Kudos to the group of volunteers for this wonderful step toward improving the water quality of Lake Winnipesaukee. Using the "disturbance score" as one measure surely should be a wake-up call for the affected property owners to seek a consultation with the LWA.
Yet, I was taken aback by the abysmally low 1% requesting a consultation. I would like to challenge the two mayoral candidates to adopt some policy statement that would encourage the city of Laconia to become more aggressive in this area of lake quality.
