Bernadette Loesch: Misplaced anger, threats of violence over misinformation

Let’s discuss misinformation and how the continued use of it is causing many to get very sick and die. In my opinion this how distortion is working for too many politicians.

There are too many who misunderstand what’s happening with the continued spread of the Delta variant. Too much misinformation is taken out of context, especially when it comes to a few governors who continue to ignore facts, foster fear and, as a result, have caused much grief with their continued stance against all medical advice. People are dying while they are trying to ‘score points’ with their base.

Time and again we are witness to very angry encounters inadvertently promoted and encouraged by political leaders trying to score "brownie points" with their supporters. Or worse, keeping silent while the level of anger continues to escalate.

We were witness to an angry group confronting and threatening doctors who were suggesting that wearing face masks was good for students. Threatening, which in part showed a few individuals who went as far as to say that these angry shouting individuals know who these doctors are and where they live!  In my opinion these individuals should have been arrested on the spot by those law enforcement officers who were trying to keep the crowd apart. 

We keep asking, "does it have to come to this?" when we should be asking, "why aren’t you spreading solid proven facts?" It’s almost as if these politicians and conservative media outlets delight in "grabbing the spotlight" no matter the consequences.

Human beings have the right to live, especially our young children! What will it take? Will you finally change your intransigent stance when a member of your family gets very sick or dies? Is that what it will take?

Those in power have an obligation to stop causing more heartache and grief, right?

We are watching things escalate to a totally unnecessary level of misplaced anger. Why does it have to come to this?
