To the editor,
The first graders at Woodland Heights Elementary School would like to publicly thank Rob and Wende Richter of Smith Apple Orchard for their many kindnesses and generosity over the past several years. The students have been welcomed every September and treated to apple picking, cider making and tasting and a wagon ride. Each child gets to pick his or her own bag of apples — some for class projects like applesauce making and others to take home and share with their families. The morning ends with games and the true story of Johnny Appleseed.
Many thanks to the Richters for making our field trip educational and so much fun!
