Teamsters Local 633, the union for First Student school bus drivers, voted this week to authorize a strike. A strike had not been called as of Wednesday, however, and negotiations were ongoing, as many Seacoast school districts that use First Student are set to open next week.

"Teamsters that work for First Student deserve a fair supplemental contract that includes access to the New England Teamsters Pension Fund. Teamsters Local 633 is ready to strike if the company continues to refuse to provide its school bus drivers with a defined pension benefit. Nearly 800 workers are ready to strike in New Hampshire."
