TILTON — A woman spent several hours lying at the base of a retaining wall she fell from late Thursday night before being discovered Friday morning and taken to a hospital.

Chief Michael Sitar Jr., of Tilton-Northfield Fire and EMS, said the woman fell from the top of a retaining wall estimated to be 20 feet high at the back of the MB Tractor property on Route 3.

She was found, calling for help, by a worker in MB Tractor’s warehouse at 6:26 a.m. on Friday. She reported falling from the top of the wall at 10 p.m. the previous day.

Records from the rescue indicated that the woman suffered “serious but not life-threatening injuries,” Sitar said.

Sitar didn’t have an explanation for what circumstances led her to be atop the wall on Thursday night, noting that the other side of the wall is a road leading to Lowe’s and Kohl’s stores, and that a guardrail separates the road from the top of the wall.

The patient was transported to Concord Hospital, Sitar said.
